| Danica was everything we'd hoped for in the first puppy from our
kennel. Her sparkling personality and devotion to us was beyond measure.
Danica was an excellent ambassador of the Bernese Mountain Dog breed.
At about 4 months of age, Danica lost her appetite. We sought
veterinary help and struggled through a tough diagnosis process. While
she made it through a second surgery, sadly, we lost her during that
second surgery recovery process.
The pathology report listed intestinal lieomyositis, which is also
known as "pseudo-blockage". This is a very rare disease about which
there is very little known in dogs. It is thought that this disease is
acquired and is not genetic.
